Susan & Eric Bershad Travel Scholarship
If you've been accepted to go abroad on an AU study abroad program, you could be eligible to apply for the Susan & Eric Bershad Travel Scholarship! With a limited number of awards given out each term, the scholarship is for $500 and is intended to offset the cost of getting to your study abroad location.
Eligibility requirements:
Have a 3.0 cumulative GPA
Have been accepted into an AU study abroad program
How to apply!
If you get the scholarship, you will also be required to write a thank you letter to the Bershads and submit two photos from your time abroad including captions of where you were and what you were doing. This scholarship is made possible through donations so please help us to show that we're grateful for the support.

How to apply!
- Submit a 3 page essay stating why you want to go abroad, how the scholarship will help you, and how going abroad will impact not only your time here at Alfred, but also your career and life moving forward. Essays can be sent to studyabroad@alfred.edu with "Susan & Eric Bershad Travel Scholarship" in the subject line.
- Complete the "Financial Aid Planning for AU Study Abroad Programs" item on your application checklist before the scholarship deadline. We need this information to check with the Office of Financial Aid and ensure the scholarship won't impact your regular aid.
